![]() ![]() ![]() Orion Drake Argyle was born in the beautiful and affluent town of Virginia Water, Surrey. There was no doubt about the fact he was born into old money and the family home was a sprawling manor house on an estate that looked like it was plucked right out of Downtown Abbey. The family was part of the upper class society, entitlement that came down generations, but beyond all that Orion was very much just a general, mischievous lad with a reckless streak. He loved cheesy comedy movies just as much as he loved watching stand-up comedians and probably not far off being one of Billy Connolly's biggest fans. He loves Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, and Men Behaving Badly and was raised on Auf Wiedersehen, Pet that he used to marathon watch with his dad usually about once a year. When he was a child, his dream was to grow up and be a comedian, and to meet Billy Connolly and John Cleese. He nailed two out of three, instead of pursuing the childhood fantasy of being a professional funny man, he ended up becoming an actor. Somewhere during his teens in between hanging out with his large group of friends, drinking too much, getting into trouble, having fart competitions, and having a lot of sex, Orion actually managed to top his class at the prestigious all-boys boarding school he attended. It lead to him being accepted into the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which boasted alumni such as Joan Collins, Anthony Hopkins, Ralph Fiennes, and Vivien Leigh. Orion was very serious about studying his art. If nothing else in his life was desperately serious, his work was. He had some small bit-parts in movies and telemovies in his early college years, and his first main role was on a short-run production on London's West End, but he always wanted to get into film acting. He started to make a name for himself in Britain when he scored the lead role in a telemovie playing an actor who was working on a soap opera laden with behind-the-scenes scandal and drama. An actor playing an actor was an interest experience for him and the movie was hugely popular amongst the younger British population. His name grew when it was released in America a couple of months later, but Orion was still striving to hit the big time as an internationally recognised screen actor. Working on that telemovie is what would ultimately give him the idea that would launch him far and wide. The climate for gay actors coming out all over the globe was heating up. Being gay wasn't as frowned upon as it used to be, society was way more accepting and inviting. There was no doubt to those who knew him that Orion was gay, but he hadn't come out and most assumed he was straight when he had been photographed extensively with female co-stars. He used that naive press and paparazzi assumption to his advantage. One night, exiting a popular nightclub in London and being met with paparazzi waiting to snap his picture, he grabbed one of his closest friends from high school and kissed him heatedly in a spot that was prime aim for the paparazzi cameras. The next morning, it was all over the tabloids and the internet, and just three weeks later, after a successful string of auditions a month earlier with a Hollywood producer for an action flick in the works, he scored his first lead role in a blockbuster movie. He hadn't really needed to create a scandal to further his career, as he had already established a name for himself in the industry and his talent was highly respected. But why not have a bit of fun along the way? It scored him a massive fan-following who had a love for "shipping gay ships", but still, Orion had never come out officially. He wasn't even sure he felt the need to. The question mark about his true sexuality hung over his head for a little while. Many argued he was bisexual, others argued he only did it as a publicity stunt for his new movie that rose quickly in the box office charts. It was his first time working in Hollywood where he met the guy who would be the love of his life, Ronan Winslow. He was one of the co-writers of the movie script, his first that got picked up (previously, he had only done television writing), and he was working as an Associate Producer on the movie. He had attended college at the New York Film Academy where he completed a Masters of Fine Arts in Screenwriting. It was a chance meeting at a coffee shop a stone's throw from the studio that was the beginning of a relationship between them that they kept very quiet initially. Orion didn't want the media to assume this was another publicity stunt for the movie he was working on, and he didn't want to have to deal with constant press invasion into the relationship. It meant a lot to him and he fell pretty damn hard for Ronan. They dated throughout the whole production and when it made the top ten at the Box Office, Orion proposed to Ronan on a celebratory dinner cruise. Their wedding was a small affair in England with just their closest family and friends who knew about their relationship. They were one of the first same-sex couples to legally marry (not just a civil union) in England when the laws changed and now Orion has been flirting with the idea of coming out publicly as not just a gay man, but a married one. Making the move to New York together for Orion to begin filming his next big movie, they aren't sure whether now is the time to do it or not. After winning a Golden Globe for his previous role, he has now established himself in the industry. His popularity has soared and he has a huge fanbase. However, some days the celebrity lifestyle gets to him which is where he is appreciative to have his life with Ronan kept on the hush as some sort of sanctuary and peace for him from that crazy lifestyle. It is what has been holding him back in coming out. His latest movie project - where he plays a military pilot who was subject of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" movement, who gets diagnosed with multiple sclerosis that sends his whole world crashing down around him - has been pegged as potential Oscar winning work, has really made him think about his life more seriously. A lot of changes have been happening quickly for him, and now he just needs to decide if he's ready to share his husband with the world or not.
